Hook 4.00 Yarn PANDA acrylic 8ply
Changes in yarn and hook will result in changes in pattern size.
Glossary
st – Stitch
slst – Slip Stitch
ch – Chain
sc – Single Crochet
hdc – Half Double Crochet
dc – Double Crochet
rnd – Round
Sole is worked in the round without turning.

Sole
Rnd 1
Ch 11. Sc in 2
nd
link from hook. Sc in same link then in the next 4 link. Hdc 1 link, Dc in next 3
links. Make 4 dc in last link, turn and dc in next 3 link. 1 Hdc in next link, 1 sc in next 4 link. 2 sc
in last link. Join with slst.
Rnd 2
Ch 2. 2 hdc in next st. 1 hdc in next 8 st. 2 hdc in next 4 st, 1 hdc in next 8 st, 2 hdc in next st, 1 hdc
in next 2 st, join with slst.
Rnd 3
Ch 2. 2 hdc in next st. 1 hdc in the next 8 st. 2 hdc in the next 8 st. 1 hdc in next 8 st. 2 hdc in next
st, 1 hdc in next 2 st. Join with slst. Fasten off. (3-6 x 4)
Weave in ends.

HINT– Make the 2 pair of soles different colours.

Attaching the Soles together .
Keep two soles of different colours one under the other with the wrong sides of the
soles touching each other. With the outer sole facing you, slst around. Tuck all the yarn tails in
between the soles before you slst.
Marking Stitches.
Laying your soles flat, mark with different colour yarn offcuts or stitch markers the 5 the and 8 the stitch on either side of heel centre.
Find the upper middle stitch (toe st) and mark 1 st left (right shoe) on one sole and 1 st right (left
shoe) on other. You are now ready to start sides.
Side Posts(both sides)
Rnd 1
Slst in first marked st on side, chain 2, 1 sc in next 3 st towards nearest marker on same side; turn.
Rnd 2:
Ch 2, 1 hdc in next 3 st, fasten off.
Straps
Starting on left, slst into 1
st
st. Slst in remaining 3 st. (DO NOT FASTEN OFF)
Ch 12, slst around toe st previously marked.
Slst back up 3 ch.
Ch 9, slst into first side post on right side of shoe. Slst across remaining 3 st. (DON NOT FASTEN OFF)
For back strap continue on from slst, Ch 12 and slst into beginning slst on left side post.
Ch 2, hdc in each st and ch until you have completed the round. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
Flower
Ch 4 join with slst. Ch 2. 2 dc into ch ring, ch 2 slst into ring. Repeat 4 more times, fasten off.
Weave in ends.
Using alternate colour, ch 5, sc into 2
nd
ch from hk. Sc in remaing 3 ch. (DON NOT FASTEN OFF)
Pull up loop from last st and remove hk. Push hk though first sc in row, pick up loop from last sc
and pull through. (Puff Stitch).
Fasten off leaving long tails.
Use tails to close and tighten button, Fasten off again leaving tails.
Feed tails from button through middle of flower. (Button should not push through) use button tails
to attach all to strap on OUTSIDE of shoe. (Left side for left shoe, right side for right shoe.

    For some reason when I am making the sole I end up with 3 extra stitches and I can’t sl st on chain 2.
